Here s how you should put a surfboard on the roof of your car. Drop the front eva foam pad near the windshield. We always put the boards on fin forward to prevent them from slipping out from under the straps. Each strap should cross the board twice.

Make sure the strap buckle is not on the rail of the surfboard. Wrap the straps through the side rails around the cross bars of the rack and over the top of the surfboard s then around the cross bars on the other side.
